ABOUT THE GALLERY
April 15 - May 03, 2010
The festival events take place on the traditional lands of the Cowichan people on southern Vancouver Island. This annual gathering and celebration is respectfully presented within the framework of Coast Salish culture, values, and traditions.
Each year we showcase up to 15 visual artists, and artisans in the Festival’s Gallery of Artists. Artists who are interested in participating in this event are asked to contact the Festival Director or the Artist Gallery Coordinator by January 30, 2010.
The overall theme for this year, the 6th Annual Cowichan International Aboriginal Festival of Film & Art is around the concept of Fire. Quality pieces in a variety of mediums that compliment this theme are a consideration, but not a requirement when we select the participating artists.
The Artist’s Gallery will be set up in the Telus Lobby of the Cowichan Theatre in Duncan. The gallery will display from Monday April 13, 2010 to Monday May 3, 2010. Art workshops and gallery tours will be scheduled during this time frame.
