Welcome to the 6th annual Cowichan International Aboriginal Festival of Film & Art
Youth FX: April 14th – 19th , 2010

This years workshops were focused on spoken word with opportunities to learn more about filmmaking, making a music video, editing, hoop dancing, hip hop, storytelling, rap, traditional drumming, pow wow dancing, drum fusion and of course to watch award winning youth films by day and independent films by night.

Youth were able to meet and work with performers like PD Chalifoux, a hoopdancer who performed at the opening ceremonies at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Dallas Arcand a.k.a. KrayZKree,Indigenous Hip-Hop Artist whose distinctive style, part hip-hop and part rap, adds a fresh and unique voice to the contemporary native music scene.

Filmmakers Harold Joe, Micheal Auger and Cowboy Smithx were back again bringing their own unique blend of talents and styles to work with youth at the festival to inspire documentaries and music videos.
